Joe Giangola ‘80

Joe Giangola has been a lifelong Ashtabula resident. He is the son of
Isabel and the late Donald Giangola. He graduated from St. John High School in 1980. During his time as a Herald, he was a member of the band, the track team and student government, serving as class treasurer junior year and class president his senior year.
After attending Gannon University, he became a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist from the Warton School of Business - University of Pennsylvania and began working at Giangola Insurance Agency. Throughout the past 40 years, Joe has operated a thriving and successful local business that's offered valuable services to Ashtabula residents.
He has also contributed to the betterment of the Ashtabula area as well, serving as Board Chair of Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce; and a board member of Ashtabula Regional Medical Center since 2008 and Board Chair from 2011-2015. He also served as the president of the Ohio Association of Life Underwriters and has held numerous prestigious roles within his professional field and its organizations.
He has been married for nearly 42 years to Kim. They have two children, Joey and Jordan, who both graduated from Saints John & Paul in 2002 and 2003. During his time as a parent supporting Catholic education, Joe was fundraising chair. He spent many Sundays volunteering at Bingo and other events, giving his time and energy. Throughout the next decade, he donated his time as an intramural coach, selling tickets to fundraisers, working
tirelessly in the kitchen and doing whatever was needed. Most notably, through his business, he helped establish a scholarship fund in memory of his father, providing tens of thousands of dollars to help local families make an education at Saints John & Paul more affordable.
Joe is also Papa to seven grandchildren, ages 13-6: J.R., Ella, Charlotte, Lily, Collin, Anna and Juliana. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling with his wife.
Therese “Terri” Chadowski

One would never know it, but Terri is not from Ashtabula. Born in Cleveland, her early years were spent in Pennsylvania, graduating from Brookville Area High School in 1975. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Edu-ation; specifically, Business Education. In 1995, she graduated from Cleveland State University with an MA in Counsselor Education. I
In a 42-year career in education, she held a variety of positions at a number of schools. At Villa Angela Academy (Cleveland, OH), she was a business instructor and held additional duties which included serving as Senior Class Moderator, Senior Community Experience Coordinator, Department Manager, Data Processing Coordinator, Faculty Advisory Board Member and Student Teacher Supervisor. At Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, she initially started as a business instructor. After receiving a Master of Education (Counselor Education), she accepted a position as their Director of Guidance. In addition, she was a Student Council Co-moderator and was a Faculty Advisory Board Member.
Her final position led her to Ashtabula Area City Schools, and she was hired for the position of Guidance Counselor at Saints John & Paul Catholic School/ Saint John School through government funding. She gave more than 15 years of service to the Herald community.
Terri has 1 sister, Joan (Eric) Pierson, and 2 brothers: Paul (Julie) Chadowski and James (Jackie) Chadowski. Her sister-in-law, Ann Chadowski, is deceased. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, she has left an imprint on numerous students that went far beyond the classroom or counseling office. Terri retired in 2022 and is enjoying time pursuing her personal interests and pursuing all the interests that she put on the shelf to devote herself to her ministry.
Kathy and Greg Housel

Greg and Kathy (Mountjoy) Housel are the retired owners of Housel Construction, Inc. Co-Owners of Heritage Mini/Mobile Storage in Jefferson, OH.
Kathy was originally from St. Louis, MO. But her father (Thomas Mountjoy, worked for Union Carbide and his position led him and his wife, Nita Mounjoy from Missouri to Michigan and various spots in OH before settling in Jefferson, Ohio in 1977, when her Dad was transferred to the Ashtabula plant.
The students of Jefferson were welcoming, and Kathy made lifelong friends, including her husband Greg who was born and raised in Jefferson. They graduated from Jefferson Area High School in 1980 and were married.
In 1984 after Greg graduated from The Ohio State University in Business. They moved to the Chicago area for a few years before returning to Jefferson to raise their family. Greg joined his dad (Herbert Housel) in the family business, Housel Construction, Inc. in 1987 and Kathy joined as bookkeeper and office manager in 1992. They later added Heritage Mini Storage as part of the company.
Greg and Kathy are active members of Jefferson United Methodist Church, where Greg served as Lay Leader and a Sunday School Teacher for teens. Kathy continues to sing in the Praise Team and Chancel Choir and previously directed children’s choirs, musicals and Teen Handbell Choirs for several years. They both enjoy leading and participating in summer intergenerational mission trips, building ramps and doing home repairs for people in need. Locally, they both helped build 2 Habitat for Humanity houses in Jefferson and Greg worked to make Jefferson UMC a place for mission teams to stay while working on homes in Ashtabula County. Greg and Kathy believe it is important to share blessings both locally, nationally, and internationally. In 2025 they served in Baldwin, LA, as part of the United Methodist Committee on Relief where they helped prepare buckets which contain cleaning supplies for people affected by hurricanes or floods. The group also sends out health kits and does local home repairs. They are also involved in is Elefence International which works to resolve elephant/human conflicts in Africa by installing solar fences to create corridors for the elephants and wells to make water more accessible to the villages.

They have been active at Saint John in a variety of activities. If their children were involved, so were they! Housel Construction has been a partner in most of the new construction that has taken place at Saint John since they moved to Depot Road.
Greg and Kathy are the parents of: Thomas (Kelly), Eugene, OR., Nicholas (Megan), Colorado Springs, CO., Michael, Jefferson, Samuel ‘21 Jefferson, Kiden ‘23, Kent, OH., and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren, Tayden and Tealia, Colorado Springs, CO.
Michael Zullo '78

Mike attended Mother of Sorrows Grade School and Saint John High School, graduating in 1978. Mike was a 2-year letter winner in football and was a member of the 1977 state championship and also earned a 4-year letter award in Tennis.
After graduation from Saint John, Mike continued his education at the University of Akron, receiving an associate's degree in accounting before going on to attend Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Mike then went on to earn his Certified Public Accounting License in 1992.
Mike has deep roots in Ashtabula as his parents, Ralph & Carol Zullo still reside in Ashtabula. Mike has three sisters: Donna Zullo Nelson, Karen Zullo DeGeorge and Renee Zullo Hammond ’85. His brother, Louis “Louie” ‘79 died in 1982 at the age of 21 after a long battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Mike served on the Saint John Board of Directors and has been a partner in promoting the Saint John Scholarship Granting Organization. Mike also worked for the City of Ashtabula as the Finance Director for 25 years. Since his retirement, he has worked with his wife, Jennifer, in his private accounting firm, serving more than 1,000 clients on an annual basis.
Mike and his wife,Jen, have four children, all Saint John alumni: Millicent Zullo ’04, Mikenzie Zullo Dray ’10, Carolee Zullo ’12 and Michaelangelo Zullo ’15. Mike and Jen also have 6 grandchildren: Luciano, Santino, Lincoln, Lydia, Davey and Emmy. When not enjoying time with his grandchildren, Mike relaxes by fishing on his boat in Lake Erie and if not fishing during the non-tax season, you can either find him golfing or mowing his lawn. In the fall of the year, he is a bow hunter for trophy whitetail deer.
