Welcome to Saint John School

Christian Service

“Love and charity, are service, helping others, serving others. There are many people who spend their lives in this way, in the service of others. … When you forget yourself and think of others, this is love! And with the washing of the feet the Lord teaches us to be servants, and above all, servants as He was a servant to us, for every one of us.”
                                                                                                                             — Pope Francis

We do not just talk about our faith at Saint John School, we put our faith into action.  Through service projects and self-reflection, our students discover the real joy of the Gospel. In the process of serving others they are changed, imbued with a sense that they are part of something bigger than themselves.

Our Campus Ministry department regularly organizes community service opportunities that are open to all students. In addition, each grade undertakes a significant service project. Saint John School requires all students in grades 7-12 to participate in a six-year service program. The service requirement is a part of the student’s transcript and is graded on a pass/fail basis.  Specific details about the service program can be found in the parent-student handbook.
